The main goal was the redefinition of boundaries between public-private and open-closed spaces. The relations between them creates and defines the function of the building.

The shell of a building is the intermediate element and the boundary between the interior and the exterior, where inside the conditions of thermal comfort must be ensured while the external environment changes on a seasonal and daily basis, depending on the climatic conditions. Based on the bioclimatic approach, the building design strategy focused on the organization of spaces below ground level, inspired by the traditional architecture of cave buildings, where the living space remains protected from the weather.

FACADES & SECTIONS

The cave form enhances the interior and the introverted character where artistic creation and inspiration can develop. At the same time, social spaces of concentration and relaxation are developed in the atrium spaces, which offer social contact and organization of artistic events.

The cave building is organized with simple rectangular engravings Three wide corridors, parallel to the larger side of the building, create a network of horizontal movement ending in atriums and finally in the outdoor area. Classrooms, amphitheaters, workshops, studios, patios and courtyards are arranged along the corridors. The main access to the school is from the southwest end and is accessible via a large staircase, which also functions as an outdoor meeting place.
